MISSISSIPPI RIVER ICE FISHING DOING WELL!!!

Greetings All:
The great ice fishing on the Mississippi river continues in the backwaters. Areas of pools 11-12-13 & 14 are putting out some good fish. Panfish and some walleye are biting along with some bonus Northern Pike. Most anglers are hitting the backwaters and catching fish right now on both larvae type baits and also minnows. For those panfish, small jigs tipped with wax worms or spikes working well.

With the recent warm weather, be very careful as the river ice conditions are changing on an almost daily basis. The ice you fished yesterday may not be safe tomorrow so use extreme caution when heading out. Never take river ice conditions for granted.

Good luck and enjoy the great ice fishing going on right now on a backwater near you.
