MIDWEEK REPORT ON THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER!!!

Greetings All;

Well, a strong cold front has moved through today with very strong North winds. Water temps have cooled quite a bit and the walleye and sauger have been responding. Some good fish available on the wing dams with long wing dams producing best. Jig/minnow rigs working well. Also some nice white bass still available on sunny days near sand flat areas. White hair jigs, 1/4th ounce size working well. Some crappie also on wing dams fishing minnows. Catfish slowing down but still available on cut baits. If your planning a trip to the Mississippi this coming weekend, forecast is for heavy rains and possible severe weather on Saturday. If this happens, look for river to muddy up making visibility poor. Right now, water is fairly clear and very fishable.
