OXYGEN DEPLETION A REAL PROBLEM FOR THE FISH!!!

Greetings All:

As we move deeper into the ice fishing season the heavy snow cover in the Midwest is continuing to have a major effect on our waters that contain fish. With the Sun light unable to penetrate into the depth through the ice, oxygen producing vegetation is not producing any oxygen which is leading to potential fish kills in many areas. If we do not get some melting and runoff happening soon to re-oxygenate these waters the fish will be substantial. With above freezing temperatures not forecast for at least another week the oxygen is dangerously low in many areas.
Let's hope Mother Nature gives us a break and we get some thawing so that fresh oxygen can get into these troubled waters. Until then, all we can do is hope and wait.
